The Emergency Assistance program is administered through the General Assistance program and is available to all Bloom Township residents who meet income and assets guidelines established by the General Assistance office. Emergency Assistance provides financial aid to help residents alleviate an emergency or life threatening circumstance. Emergency Assistance can be issued only once during a 12 (12) month period. Emergency assistance does not provide for security deposits, first month’s rent or medical bills.

One cannot receive General Assistance and Emergency Assistants at the same time. If your house or rental unit is damaged by fire, flood, storm or you are in harmful endangerment, you may be eligible for Emergency Assistance. Income and asset liability will help determine eligibility.
