Trustee Carla Matthews
Carla is a life long resident of Bloom Township. In 2005 Carla was elected to the Board of Trustee's in Bloom Township. She is currently serving her second term in that position. Carla also served on the Steger- South Chicago Heights Library Board from 1995-2001. In 2005 Carla volunteered to help with the Thomas Cellini Huntingtons's Foundation on the Advisory Committee. In 2010 she was appointed to serve as a board member.
Carla graduated from Bloom Township High School and attended Prairie State College Dental program. She has been in the dental field since 1979. Carla and her husband Terry have two grown children and four grandchildren. They are members of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Chicago Heights.
Trustee Kevin J Watson
My name is Kevin Watson. I am a resident of Sauk Village, IL. I attended Bremen High School in Midlothian and Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, IL. I am currently employed by the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). I also serve on the executive board of the Southland Friends of Labor. My goal as a trustee is to continue to provide quality and accessible services for all the citizens of Bloom Township.
Trustee Laretta Perez
Laretta Perez is married to an active U.S. Army Reservist with over 22 years of service. She has three children. Her oldest son is serving as a U.S. Marine, her second son is a senior in high school and her daughter is in 3rd grade. Laretta is employed as a Business Manager.
Laretta Perez has completed a Mini MBA Executive Certificate Program at Loyola University. She has earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance from Walden University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in from Governors State University and an Associate’s Degree from Prairie State College.
Laretta holds active licenses as a Chief School Business Official with Illinois State Board of Education and as a Certified Tax Credit Specialist, a Certified Manager of Housing, and a Certified Occupancy Specialist with the National Center for Housing Management. She also has a Human Resource Management Certification from George Mason University and the Society for Human Resource Management.
She proudly volunteers as the Finance Officer for a non profit organization known as NuVision Princess of Illinois. She also serves as a member of the Finance Committee for the City of Chicago Heights and as a PTO member in the school district. She continuously teaches free resume workshops and free credit seminars.
She is the former Finance Officer for a Civil Air Patrol Squadron and the former Chairperson of the church Youth Department. Eight years of her life was dedicated to the U.S. Army Reserves.
