Emergency Assistance

Bloom Township Emergency Assistance is administered through the General Assistance Program. Emergency Assistance (EA) assists Bloom Township residents to help alleviate an "Emergency" or life-threatening circumstance.

Emergency Assistance can only be issued once in a twelve (12) month period where the definition of emergency is met.

  • Must be Bloom Township resident 18 or over who is not eligible for General Assistance.
  • Must complete an application and provide proper identification, income, and residency status for applicant and household.
  • Must exhibit and document financial hardship and show ongoing ability to cover expenses after assistance is granted.
  • Residents who receiving subsidized housing benefits may be ineligible for certain benefits.

Emergency Assistance does not cover security deposits or first-month rent except in individual or family displacement due to disaster.
